Six years ago, Musa Ali (not his real name) was linked up with a rich businessman in Yola, who ‘initiated’ him into gay sex. Ali was told that being gay would make him bold and feared. Of course, he was also told that he would make a huge load of money. Now 36, Ali is somewhat filled with regrets and wishing it were possible to turn back the hands of the clock. Sitting in the serene evening of last Thursday in Bankin Kogi at the bank of River Benue in Yola after a Herculean arrangement to get him to talk, he shared his story with our correspondent. How did you become a gay?

A woman my friend introduced to me lured me into it. The woman linked me up with some men in business and in politics. The first man I was introduced to told me that having anal sex would fetch me good fortune and I would be bold to challenge anybody no matter his social status. He said that if I wanted to be rich and be likable, I should join the club of gays. He said that I would meet influential people and they would be attracted to me. Also, I was told that if I ask for anything, without hesitation, my demands would be obliged. He said whenever I speak, I would be feared and my wish would obeyed. That was six years ago. He made love to me during political campaigns and gave me N150,000. I bought a parcel of land with that money but later sold it.

This couple was reportedly spotted in Ghana, broad daylight enjoying their bodies while an excited crowd gathered to watch and take pictures.

N. Korea leader reported to have killed his late uncle's entire family

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un, may have killed his late uncle's entire family, including children, if reports from South Korea is to be believed. Kim Jong-un (right) executed his uncle, Jang Song Thaek (left), once regarded as the second most powerful person in North Korea, in December 2013 for allegedly 'trying to overthrow the Government'

Two brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun died within days of each late last year in Oyo state and family members say it was after they slept with their uncles' wives. The uncle, (pictured above) is accused of killing the brothers with a deadly anti-adultery charm commonly known as Magun. He was attacked and nearly killed by irate youths following the death of the second brother. He is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan.

The incident happened at Jagun community near Iyana Ofa, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State towards the end of 2013 when two blood brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun, died, one after the other, within three days, allegedly of a local charm used to punish adulterous men, commonly referred to as magun in Yoruba.

This literally translates ‘don’t climb’ in English. But the two brothers climbed the metaphorical mountains that were too high for them. And they somersaulted down the hills, breaking their necks in the process. The occurrence, however, sparked off anger among the youth of the community, resulting in them setting ablaze the residence of the Balogun of the community, Chief Segun Oyetade, the deceased’s uncle, as he was suspected to have been responsible for the duo’s death. They also attacked him with weapons but was only saved when the youth got a hint that policemen were approaching.

Tonto and AY are good friends. She's even done a few skits for AY comedy shows but last night the two friends went for each other, well more like Tonto went for AY.

Trouble started after the comedian re-posted a link to a story on his blog which was an earlier post about Tonto's look at the Calabar Carnival in December 2013. Tonto felt he was making fun of her and went for the jugular. See more tweets after the cut..

Dana Airline resumes flight operations today

According to reports, Dana Airline has successfully passed the operational audit exercise by the NCAA and would start operations as from today Saturday January 25th.

A statement from the airline said following the successful outcome of the operational audit of Dana Air by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the airline is set to recommence full commercial flight operations today.

Announcing the resumption of flight operations in Lagos, the Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager, Mr. Yvan Drewinsky, said the lifting of the suspension order is a testament that Dana Air
adheres strictly to prescribed safety standards as dictated by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARs) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards.

Chad Ochocinco put gays sending him nude photos on blast

American NFL player Chad Johnson formerly known as Chad Ochocinco does not mess with gays and two of them learnt it the hard way. He had been receiving unsolicited nudes photos from gay men via Instagram direct message, and yesterday he posted some of them for everyone to see.

South African singer and producer Oskido revealed on twitter yesterday that Mafikizolo, the South African singing group behind hit song, Khona are working on a musical collaboration with Nigerian music sensation Davido. 20 out of 24 PDP Kwara lawmakers defect to APC

Mehn, PDP is in trouble o. What's going on? 20 out of the 24 lawmakers that make up the Kwara State House of Assembly have all defected to All Progressive Congress, APC. The lawmakers who came into the house on the platform of the PDP announced their defection this morning.

Principal officers of the house including the Speaker of the House Mr Rasaq Atunwa, his deputy, Prof Yisa Mohammed were part of those that defected. The lawmakers said they decided to move to the APC due to the factions in the PDP.

Kwara State governor Abdulfatah Ahmed already defected to APC.

22yr old college athlete arrested for infecting dozens of men wih HIV

According to a report by Radar 22year old college athlete, Michael Johnson (pictured above) has been arrested for allegedly infecting dozens of men with the HIV virus. 32 tapes of the former wrestler having unprotected sex with men who are not aware of his HIV status were found on his computer. The men were not even aware that he was filming the sex act.

Michael has been charged with five counts of recklessly risking infection of another with HIV since November. Authorities said they have only identified one of the men in the tapes, and are trying to find out the identities of the others; many of the men seen having sex with Johnson might have met him through social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as on campus.

St. Charles County prosecutor Tim Lohmar told KMOV that “it’s safe to say that numerous of those videos were taken inside his dorm room; we know that because we recognize the furniture.” Continue

Man holds girlfriend hostage after her parents refused to let them get married

A construction worker held his girlfriend hostage on a Chinese rooftop with a meat cleaver for five hours after her parents reportedly refused to approve their marriage.

Hundreds of onlookers and armed police watched as the man stripped to his underwear and ordered his girlfriend to do the same so she would be shamed in front of their neighbours.

He announced he was going to kill her and claimed the 29-year-old regularly had affairs when he went to work, according to various local media reports. Continue...

Former PDP chairman Bamanga Tukur appointed Chairman Railway Corporation

Immediate past chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Bamanga Tukur has been appointed Chairman Board of the Nigerian Railway Corporation by President Jonathan.

His appointment was contained in a statement released by Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sam Nwaobasi.

Alhaji Bamaga last week resigned as chairman of PDP. He was replaced with the former Governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Muazu.

Joan Rivers Calls Kim & Kanye’s Baby North West An “Ugly Baby In Need Of Waxing”

Seems no one is safe from Joan Rivers’ acid-tongue. Not even Kim Kardashian’s seven-month old daughter, North West, who the comedienne ripped in her latest stand up show.

While entertaining her audience at the Saban Theater on January 17 in Los Angeles, reports say Joan Rivers, made a joke of the little baby, calling her “ugly.”
80 years old Rivers was trying to explain how the Kardashians had recently been in the E! offices

Her audience laughed though but a lot of people who weren't at the venue think the joke was so inappropriate.

President Jonathan today Tuesday Jan. 12th officially presented the names of 12 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and approval. Senate president, David Mark, announced the names on the floor of the Senate at the resumed plenary session for the year 2014.

Lagos State Government seek to ban smoking in public places

The Lagos State House of Assembly yesterday January 20th passed a bill seeking to make smoking in public places illegal in the state, with first offenders having options of paying a fine of N10,000, three months in jail or both. The bill which is waiting the approval of Gov. Fashola to be signed into law prohibits residents from smoking in places such as libraries, museum, public toilets, schools, hospital, day-care centres, public transportation, restaurants among others.

Lagos residents who break this new law repeatedly would either be sent to prison for 6 months or pay a fine of N50,000, while owners of public places who encourage the breaking of this law would pay a fine of N100,000 or be sent to jail for six months.

The bill also seeks to punish anyone who smokes in front of a child with a fine of N15,000 or six months imprisonment. The bill also directs corporate organizations to place the 'No Smoking' sign in their premises. Companies who default would pay a fine of N250,000.

The Bill when passed into law would be supervised by the Lagos Environmental Protection Agency

'No sponsor influenced winners of Headies Award'- Ayo Animasahun

Ayo Animashaun, the brain behind the Headies Award has reacted to criticisms that trailed the award in 2013. Critics of the award which held December 26th 2013 believed that the winners were largely dictated by the lead sponsor of the show, making the organizers give awards only to artistes who are ambassadors of the lead sponsor and not necessarily to those who merited it.

Mr Animashaun in a recent interview with Encomium magazine denied all the allegations and also cleared the air on why Wizkid didn't win any award as he was largely rooted for by a lot of people.

"I dont like to add my words to what is not valid or baseless. It is just a waste of time. Some people do not think before they talk. In the first instance, MTN was not the major sponsor. You saw Airtel everywhere. Olamide that won the biggest award of the night is an Etisalat Ambassador. When people's argument is baseless, I don't join issues with them. I just look and laugh. People don't really do their own homework, they just talk. Wizkid's Jaiye Jaiye came out in August and the year in review stopped in July. How is it supposed to qualify? The year in review started March 2012 to June 2013. At that period, Jaiye Jaiye was not out. We were too busy to be distracted by any critics. Some people can talk and we are not the only people that started the journey".

A state visit being planned by Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan to Canada for February has been canceled by the Canadian Government.

The cancellation happened in the same week it was revealed the President secretly signed a controversial law banning gays, lesbians, and sexual minorities in Nigeria.

Sources in Abuja told Saharareporters that the Nigerian Ambassador to Canada, Ojo Madueke, was told to inform President Jonathan that the state visit to Canada scheduled for February 13 and 14th 2014 has now been canceled.
